Katie Price and her husband Peter Andre finally won their legal trial against News of the World newspaper at the High Court in London. The fight between the celebrity couple and NOTW started in February when there was published an article including an interview with a former nanny of the couple.
Mike Brookes, their rep in front of the court said that the article was trailed as "Jordan exposed: Nanny reveals sex, rows, binges and what she's really like as a mum". ; "so reckless that they even endanger their children's health and welfare".
"One specific and particularly serious accusation made in the article related to an incident on New Year's Eve 2006 when Harvey scalded himself, and suggested that Mr Andre may have been to blame," he added.
"It also alleged that the couple were subsequently ashamed to be interviewed by social services about the event."
The newspaper's solicitor, Joanna Workman, recognized in front of the judge that the paper allegations were false and regretted that they had been published.
Being told to have been treating badly their children, Jordan and declared outside court:"Anyone who has kids can imagine how they would feel to be accused publicly of being bad parents." ; "Pete and I love our kids and would do anything for them".
She added: "We came here today to see that justice was done and that our names were cleared." ; "Now that the paper has accepted the story wasn't true, apologised to us, and paid us damages and our costs, we believe the record has been set straight and our names have been cleared."
Neither Andre nor Katie declared the sum of money they got, but they said that half of the sum would go to the NSPCC and the Vision Charity. The other half will be put into a trust fund for children Junior, Princess Tiaami and Harvey.
