Madonna officially plans to adopt baby Mercy James in Malawi
Madonna Louise Ciccone, the world-wide American singer best known for her huge concerts' profits, has recently expressed her will to adopt a new child. This time, she wants to bring home a 3 year-old baby girl, Mercy James, from Malawi.
The adoption attempt is going to be examined by the court in the southern African country next week, officials said on Friday.
“The adoption is going ahead. It has been at an advanced stage for some time.” Penstone Kilembe, the Director of Child Welfare Serves in Malawi, told press.
Initially,Madonna adopted her first African child, David Banda, in 2006 and she announced that:
“Many people - especially our Malawian friends - say that David should have a Malawian brother or sister. It’s something I have been considering but would only do if I had the support of the Malawian people and the government.”
There might be some major problems in approving the adoption, as the pop singer has not the perfect home for an orphan baby:
"Our official policy is that we do not encourage our children to be sent into broken homes," a senior official from Malawi's Ministry of Women and Child Welfare Development said of the singer.
"Her relationships may negatively affect the adoption of Mercy."
You know, I know, and tragically, they know that Madonna's life really sucks, and being her child is not an American dream at all.
Althought the AP reported that the girl's father was alive, an official at the ministry of Gender and Child Development told press that:
"Her name is Mercy James from Mchinji Home of Hope orphanage. She has no father and mother, they both died...We finished the assessment yesterday in readiness for the courts next week".
Stay tuned to see how the story continues!
