Madonna has paid tribute to two men killed after a stage collapsed - VIDEO
This might not be the first or the last tragic event that took place in Madonna's career, but it certainly hurts.
While working on setting the stage for one of her concerts in France, a few workers were seriously injured when part of the stage roof collapsed on Thursday.
It was reported that the French worker was killed immediately in the accident at Marseille's Stade Velodrome, where the concert was to take place.
Madonna felt really sorry when hearing the news, and she offerred her sympathy to the victim's families in a statement on her website.
"I am devastated to have just received this tragic news."
"My prayers go out to those who were injured and their families along with my deepest sympathy to all those affected by this heart-breaking news."
Earlier this week, the singer received the news of the death of the second man who died constructing her stage in France.
During her concert in Italy last night, Madonna stopped a second to pay tribute to the two workers:
"Before I continue the show I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge and pay tribute to two people who lost their lives today."
"You may have heard of it... When they were building my show in Marseilles, where we’re going next, we don’t know why, but one of the cranes fell...Two men lost their lives, it was a great tragedy to me."
She went on saying that she was "so devastated to be in anyway associated with anyone suffering" and asked the audience to take a moment to pray for the victims' families.
Because of the incident, the show in Marseilles was cancelled, and the 40,000 people who had bought tickets for the cancelled concert are to have their money refunded.
